Pine Snowflake Ornament

Hello everyone!
Today was a dreary overcast day with sleet that showed up late this afternoon. So, I spent part of today working in my sewing room finishing up this freebie from Rosewood Manor that is available for download as part of the 2010 ornament issue at the social part of The Stitchers' Village.

In the winter of 2010 through the spring of 2011, we had a problem with water seepage in our finished basement caused by our drain pipes separating. Anyhow, I was lucky enough to catch the problem when it began, but we couldn't repair it until late spring of last year. I quickly packed up all my stitchery projects and supplies in various bags, boxes and whatever else was handy, moving them all out of harms way. I am slowly getting re-organized and coming across some more projects that have to be finished, and some that were almost finished. It looks like I'll be spending more time in my sewing room.
Have a wonderful day!

Problems with Blogger and a strawberry

Hello everyone! I'm hoping that this works. I now get a notice that the updated Blogger does not support my browser (IE). It seems that they want me to download Google Chrome... must be that they don't realize that isn't an easy task when you have a dial up connection.

Last week, I mentioned a treasure I found while shopping at A.C. Moore. I found these mother of pearl rings in a clearance bin. I had almost run out of the hexagon shaped ones that I use for stitcher wallet  finishes. These have the same size opening, just a bit wider... but I know they'll work out fine. Now to figure out what to use them on.

Decisions... decisions... I'm thinking maybe something patriotic like this chart that was part of my purchase from Kathy at Needle Delights

This week, I'm working on my HAED Forbidden Doorway. Hopefully, I'll have enough progress to show an update next week.

Meanwhile, Here's a little strawberry to enjoy. It's from the Blackbird Designs Booklet Joyeux Noel designed by Nicoletta Farrauto.

Stitching and stash

Hi everyone,

I thought that I'd be sharing my finished Rosewood Manor ornament from JCS 2011... but, I decided to put a beaded fringe on the bottom and I ran out of beads... so It's on hold for a bit...

I did manage to finish this Gettysburg Address Bookmark from "Gettysburg, Pennsylvania" Bits of History Series ©2011 Joanne M. Thayer from Of Generations Past.

Fabric: Aida

Threads: DMC

Stitch Count: 101 x 27, 2 over 1

Oh, and here are a few of the treasures from my trip to the bead store last week.

I found these charms in a clearance bag... now to decide what projects to use them on....

My wallet is empty

Hello everyone...Last week I got some stash in the mail....

Just couldn't wait... had to have a new start... This is the March Word Play from Brenda Gervaise of With Thy Needle & Thread. The fabric is actually a light brown as I'm using 36ct R&R abecedarian.

I also did some other stitching...this one is from Rosewood Manor found in the 2011 issue of Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments..

...and this one is from a Dutch Treat Designs Tabletopper...this week should be less busy, so maybe I'll have a chance to get these finished up.

Other highlights of the week were: I was able to visit a bead store that I had not been to since 2010, found a few treasures at A.C Moore, had lunch with some dear friends - we exchanged some gifts - she made us some beautiful machine embroidered towels, some stash came in the mail from Kathy at Needle Delights . She is closing her shop and having quite a clearance sale. I'll try to post these treasures later this week.

I'll leave you with a few feathered friends that visited this week.

Redwing Blackbird...He was camera shy...

and an evening grosbeak

Have a wonderful day.

Is it still lucky?

Hi everyone! I finished the shamrock biscornu. Please don't look too closely... you will see that when I got the rest of my dark green thread to finish this, I must have turned my fabric because the four sided stitched heart on the right hand side is facing the wrong direction... I didn't notice it until I took this picture - LOL!
Designer: Kim Beamish

Design: Shamrock Biscornu found in the March 2012 issue of cross-stitch & Needlework

Fabric: 28ct antique white Cashel

Threads: DMC, DMC#8, DMC#12

Lots of stitching but no finishes

Since it's the beginning of the month, I thought I'd share my progress on Heaven and Earth Designs Forbidden Doorway SK SAL.

Hopefully by next month, I'll have more to show.

This SAL SK is progressing much faster than the Treasures SK SAL last year.

This Full Circle Designs was one of the last patterns I was able to purchase from my LNS just before it closed in 2003. I'm working on the small cube, using up some of my 14ct aida, and GAST. I'm waiting on a mail order to come in with the frosted black beads that I thought I had, but couldn't find.

I also started a cute little daffodil design from a Dutch Treat Designs Tabletopper...put that aside - I needed some beads to finish up.They're also on order.

Earlier this week I was able to get to my not so local big box craft store to pick up the floss I needed to complete my shamrock biscornu. I should be able to post a pic of it finished very soon.

Have a wonderful day!
